The first Open Print Competition judged by Frank Feeney results were: First Duncan Armour DPAGB with The Meeting Place, second Jack Rose FRPS with Door Handles, third Pauline Watling CPAGB with Towards Porlock Bay. Highly Commended were Deborah Armour DPAGB with Three’s a Crowd, Mike Birbeck FRPS with Figure in Spain and Linda Brunsch with Char Ladies.
The second Digital Competition had two categories Open and Landscape judged by Ian Smith. Landscape results were: First Duncan Armour DPAGB with Lofoten Blues, second Duncan Armour DPAGB with Alaskan View, third Nick Cable CPAGB with Lofoten Fishing Huts. Highly Commended were Caroline Briggs LRPS with Shiant Isles, Nick Cable DPAGB with Light at Old Harry Rocks and Paul Hand with Sunset Express. Open results: First Mike Birbeck FRPS with Amber, second Magdalena Ward with Complete, joint third Graeme Darling with National Grid vs Sun Power and Gillian Birbeck ARPS with Malcolm. Highly Commended were Nick Cable CPAGB with Spotted by the Enemy, Magdalena Ward with Zofia and Pauline Watling CPAGB with Surfer.
Members have enjoyed a varied and entertaining programme of lectures this season including the recent ones from David Snowden with Life on the Farm – a pictorial essay of rural life. Colin Sargent with Wildlife Photography concentrating on photographing wild life at night and how to photograph small mammals and John Widdows FRPS with The Story of Creation, Metamorphosis of Stardust and other images. Members appreciated a Pics on Sticks evening where many of them submitted interesting and various images, AV’s and prints that are not usually entered in competitions. Also, the Macro Group of TCC led by John Bebbington FRPS presented an evening of their excellent images from the world of micro, macro and close up photography.
