The Image of the year competitions were judged by John Tilsley ARPS DPAGB APAGB. There were two categories Print and Digital Projected Images. Only images that had received an award from the eight eligible competitions held throughout the season were allowed to enter.

Print Result: First and winner of the Print of the Year Trophy was Alan Grant DPAGB with Hoopoe with Centipede; second Caroline Briggs LRPS with Bamburgh Sunset; third Nick Cable CPAGB with Utakleiv Beach. Highly Commended were Tony Dunkley with The Winning Run and Alan Grant DPAGB with Kestrel on Prey and Kingfisher Lift Off.

DPIC Result: First and winner of the Digital Projected Image of the Year Trophy was Magdalena Ward with The Plait; second Alan Grant DPAGB with Kingfisher Returning with Catch; third George Reekie DPAGB with It’s Mine. Highly Commended were John Bebbington FRPS with Mayfly Roosting, Ed Burrows LRPS with Amelie and Nick Cable CPAGB with Freestyle.

Points are awarded in the eight competitions, the final 10 league positions in each category are as follows:

Print League: 1. Pauline Watling 35 points; 2. Alan Grant 34; 3. Mike Birbeck, Gillian Birbeck, Caroline Briggs 30; 6. Richard Baker 25; 7. Roger Thomas 24; 8. Jack Rose 20; 9. Jeanne Bradban 18; 10. Linda Brunsch 17.

DPIC League: 1. Alan Grant 38 points; 2. Magdalena Ward 37; 3. Nick Cable 32; 4. John Bebbington; 5. George Reekie, Pauline Watling, Roger Thomas 23 points; 8. Gillian Birbeck 19; 9. Richard Baker 18; 10. Ed Burrows 17.
