The first Open Digital Competition of the season produced a really excellent set of images with some superb ones from new members.

Result: First Debbie Armour DPAGB with Green Crowned Brilliant; second Mike Birbeck FRPS with Amber in Boa; third Debbie Hammond with The Soft Colours of Luskentyre Bay. Highly Commended were Caroline Briggs LRPS with Traffic Jam on Colonsay, Judy Craig with Rook at Dusk and Paul Hand with Evening Light.

The season’s speakers started off with John Bebbington FRPS with the RPS Nature Group Exhibition, a wonderful set of images. A superb entertaining evening with Matilda Temperlay had the club buzzing with enthusiasm as she displayed her powerful images of the floods on the Somerset Levels, besides tales and images of her professional life. John Baker with his talk on Astrophotography in the landscape, extreme macro images and many types of sports produced another evening of excellent images. Barry Mead, Jeff Hargreaves, Andrew Marker, Peter Smith, David Alderson, Pete McClusky and John Hudson from Bristol Photographic Society were our latest speakers. They produced a variety of stunning prints and digital images from various genres.

An impressive start to the new Taunton Camera Club year!
