Results of the Sydenham Battle
The
annual inter club competition with Sydenham Camera
Club occurred on Thursday January 19 at Bridgwater.
Taunton Camera Club members were made extremely
welcomed by the hosts and a very good evening
ensued!
Each club entered 20 prints and 20 digital images. Judge Ian Smith CPAGB was very constructive in his criticism and the evening started with the 40 prints that were submitted. The maximum points images could attain was 20. Taunton had two prints that attained the maximum points and they were Man at the Door and Tagging Along both by Bob Pearson FRPS EFIAP DPAGB. The overall score for the print section was Taunton 344 points, Sydenham 308 points.
The second half consisted of the 40 digital images with Taunton having 7 images earning maximum points. They were Black Tailed Skimmer by John Bebbington FRPS, Millennium Square Reflections by Jane Kearney, Godrevy Point by David Morton LRPS, Bison Head to Head and Giraffe Drinking by Bob Pearson FRPS EFIAP DPAGB, Slaty Backed Gull in Blizzard and Tension by George Reekie BPE 5*, Dark Times by Pauline Watling. The overall score for the digital section was Taunton 367 points and Sydenham 328 points.
The combined result was Taunton 711 points, Sydenham 636 points.
Sydenham, being a much smaller club than Taunton put on a very good show and we look forward to the ‘battle’ at Taunton next year!
